My painting style is very literal. I prefer oil on canvas to other media, but I've dabbled in acrylic, watercolor, and gouache. The leisurely drying time and oozy texture of oil influence how I work: carefully, hopefully thoughtfully. I also love that I can paint over the whole thing if I don’t like the result.
Objects are my "thingly" paintings. These are experiments with paint and glue,* rags, finds from the 99 cent store, and things found at the curb with a "FREE" sign attached.
My photos are usually taken with the idea of turning them into paintings later on, but sometimes I like one enough to let it stand on its own.
